Whenever I hear the word LUXURY one of the first thing that will come into my mind is DUBAI. It is currently at top 22nd for the most expensive city and home of glamorous and luxurious hotels that made them on the 2nd spot for the most expensive hotel rooms in the world after Geneva. Restaurants and lounges are also becoming popular in the city. Some of them are being develop as an attraction whereas some tourists will never forget to write on their bucket list. So if you plan to go Dubai and want to experience luxury without spending much for the hotels, High tea experience are one of the best choices.
In Dubai, there are two Restaurants/Lounges that are most popular with their High Tea Experience. One, the At.mosphere Lounge. Second, the Skyview Bar Lounge. One thing they have in common is they has a panoramic view of Dubai City. Differences? One is located at the highest building in the world, one is at one of the most luxurious hotel in the world. If you have done some research already, yes you have guessed the right ones! I have been to both recently so I will share some details and tips to help you decide which one to try and dine.

At.mosphere Lounge is one of the world's most finest luxury dining and lounge experiences. Currently, it holds the Guinness World title of "Highest Restaurant and Lounge in the World". It is located at the 122nd floor of the world's tallest building Burj Khalifa.

Upon Inquiring, they will ask you to provide the following details:
- Guest Name
- Mobile number
- Time
- Date
- No. of person: Adult & Kids
- Occasion
- Any dietary requirement
- Chosen Package (Please Read Below)
Their last reservation is at 3:30pm, and only happen when there is a no show or less reservation on the day or early turnover. The minimum age is 10 years old and always remember that they have a strict dress code of smart or elegant attire. For men, must wear shirts with a collar and sleeves and closed fine shoes. Sandals are allowed if worn with National dress. For ladies, elegant feminine attire. No flip flops, baggy or torn jeans, t-shirts with large/colorful prints or sports shoes. Classic sandals or high heels would be fine.

All packages comes with unlimited coffee and tea as well as mocktails. The lounge will be able to access it directly through Armani Hotel Dubai lobby and not via the corporate suites entrance. Upon entering the hotel, take the elevators-located in front of the Armani/Lounge- down to Level B1, where you will be welcomed by our hostess and directed to the restaurant or lounge. There is no access from The Dubai Mall or At The Top Burj Khalifa.
Tip no.1: If you like sitting next to the window with captivating city view, make sure to come 15 to 30 minutes before your the high tea started(2:00pm suggested) so that the receptionist can put you on the waiting list. Don't forget to email a request as well so you will be prioritize from the rest when you arrive before 2:30pm.
Second, Skyview Bar, Burj Al Arab.
Skyview Bar is located at the 27th floor of Burj Al Arab Hotel, always named as the most luxurious hotel in the world.

Afternoon Tea is served twice a day. First timing is at 1:00pm, second is at 4:00pm. It is also advised to make a reservation ahead of time but unlike the At.mosphere, you are required to provide your credit card details upon making reservation to hold and guarantee your booking. You may cancel your booking without charges as long as it's 72 hours before your actual appointment, if no, you will be charged for 1 person.
Dress code are also the same, smart casual/elegant. Gentlemen are requested to wear a collared shirt, full-length trousers or smart jeans and closed shoes. Ladies are requested to wear a suit or a dress, long or short skirt or dressy slack and top. UAE national dress is welcome. Shorts, T-shirts, flip-flops, open and running, gym, tennis, basketball shoes, etc. are not allowed.
Skyview Bar serves all guests with same food and drinks. Each guests will get a glass of champagne, unlimited sandwiches as well as coffee and tea and champagne for a price of 620AED. Yes, they are more pricey than the first one.
First they serve you a glass of Louis Roederer Brut served with Berry Tart. If you want a more premium Champagne, you can upgrade to Ultimate Luxury Package for an additional 260AED, Dom Perignon 2004.
Tip no. 1: Due to high volume of bookings, they will be holding your table for a period of 30 minutes from the reservation time onwards. Access to the hotel will be given 30 minutes prior to your reservation time.

The serving of food was a little bit slow during the time when came, probably because it was weekend(Saturday).
Skyview Bar has a breathtaking view of Dubai Metropolis, as well as the Arabian Sea but is very limited during night time.
Tip no. 2: If you want to witness the breathtaking sunset of Dubai, book the 4pm afternoon tea. Requesting for a window seat has to be done prior to your appointment, or upon making a reservation. Arriving as early as 30 minutes will 80% guarantee you for one though.

| Homemade Scones with Devonshire Clotted Cream, Homemade jams and Desserts. Tip no. 3: Photography is allowed in the restaurant upon manager's discretion. Refrain from video recording and switch your mobile phones to silent mode while dining in the restaurant. But when I went there, I have taken a couple of video clips and lots of lots of lots of photos. Nobody sounded me or other guests about this policy.
Another advantage of booking at Skyview Bar is, you will be able to access main areas of Burj Al Arab Hotel. As we all know, the hotel is only accessible to public if you have a reservation at any o their restaurants. Another top of the list experience! BUT to note that you can just move around the main lobby, other restaurants and Lounges. Taking photos are not prohibited, but try to avoid taking a photos with locals around, try not to get them in your photos, that might get you in a little trouble.

As you can see, Both lounges offer luxury on it's own different ways. One is offering with 3 different packages that you can choose based on your own preferences and budget. The other one that serves pure luxury and equal services to every guests. One that is the highest restaurant in the world which will contribute on your "most" bucket list, or maybe the most Luxurious Hotel in the world sounds more great?
So in my suggestion if you are on a not-so-tight budget, you can just try the Premium or Traditional Package from the At.mosphere Lounge. But if you are looking for a more classy of a 7 star ambience and experience, and do not worry about your money at all, Skyview Bar is the catch.
